Clarinna is a peaceful resident of a small farm located east of Redwall where she lives with her family. She is the daughter of Doughty, widow of Clerun, daughter-in-law of Adarin, sister-in-law of Buckler, and mother of Calla and Urfa. They are brutally attacked by Zwilt who severely wounds her, kills Clerun, and steals their babes along with the broadsword and Blademaster's Medal. She makes her way to the Abbey where she receives treatment and goes into a frenzy, begging Buckler to rescue her children. During the final battle she receives a vision from Martin and uses his sword to kill Zwilt just as he is preparing to decapitate Buckler, and he later finds her cleaning the blade beside the sable's body while singing a mysterious poem. Her children are reunited with her and they decide to permanently stay at Redwall.
