This large castle on Marlfox Island is surrounded by the Great Inland Lake, which is home to the vicious Teeth of the Deeps, and ruled by Silth's family. It has no stairs, only passageways and ramps, and is believed to be haunted by the mysterious White Ghost (initially thought to be Silth's murdered husband but is actually a trick played on her by Lantur and Wilce). After Urthwyte leaves the island for Salamandastron, an army of vermin take over to construct the castle. Silth and her mate then kill the other foxes, conquer the island, and have seven offspring. The unnamed King is killed by a paranoid Silth as he attempts to hold all the power, and she demands her children to steal beautiful things for her chamber because she thinks this will keep the White Ghost at bay. Lantur becomes High Queen after secretly poisoning her mother, then she is killed by Mokkan who is named High King. He is slain in the final battle and any surviving water rat soldiers remain on the island to farm the area under the watchful eye of Megraw.
