Buppler is a resident of Irgash Isle and crew member aboard Greenshroud. While the vermin are pursuing an escaped Posy and Uggo, their ship becomes stuck in a marsh and he raises the suggestion of using spears to lever the vessel out. As the ship is being pulled free he accidentally trips and falls right in front, causing his spine to be fatally broken by one of the gigantic wheels.
