Bucko is a huge resident of the Northern Mountains and self-proclaimed King of a court located in northeast Mossflower who has a thick northern accent. He is quite tall, extremely muscular, and is the only survivor of a massacre on his family by Karangool; as a result of the deaths, being driven from his home, and inflicted with many scars thanks to the fox's sword, he swears vengeance against him. He has a habit of challenging any passing traveller to three specific events (Bragging, Fighting, and Feasting) in exchange for the crown. The only known creature to successfully defeat him in all three is Dotti, and he agrees to join her and Brocktree on the trip to Salamandastron. During the final battle he spots Trunn's fleet escaping and swims towards the ships, catching up to Karangool who has been pushed into the water by Ripfang. He viciously beats the fox with his blade, kills him, then returns to his court while promising Dotti he will serve in the Long Patrol's northern branch under the title of General. This makes him one of four known hares to carry the prestigious title.
