Brockhall
Appears In: Mossflower, Triss, and The Sable Quean
Mentioned In: Lord Brocktree, The Legend of Luke, and Outcast of Redwall
This ancient place, located in northeastern Mossflower, is once home to the Brock family and believed to have been named after Sable Brock as she is one of its first residents. It is used by the CORIM as their headquarters during the Great Mossflower War but abandoned after Tsarmina's defeat and Redwall's construction. At one point Berussca moves in and raises her three children here. Prior to the events of Triss, the place is re-discovered by Sarengo who finds a map outlining its location but lost again after he and Berussca kill each other. It is accidentally re-discovered by Bikkle and Ruggum many seasons later, and after the three adders are slain some Redwallers wander the place in search of any historical documents. During the events of The Sable Quean, Vilaya uses the ancient place (she calls it Althier, an anagram for "The Lair") as her headquarters. She is extremely paranoid of anybeast finding it so she entrusts its location to only a select few. Young woodlanders who have been captured by the Ravagers army are kept here inside a dark cave with mossy ledges. Axtel accidentally discovers Brockhall while digging near it one day, and by this time water erosion has results in a large lake and cave system appearing and connecting to one of Brockhall's main caves; the youngsters use this cave system to escape. After the Ravagers are defeated, Brockhall is abandoned once again.
