Botarus - presumably derived from Botaurus stellaris, the Latin name for the Eurasian Bittern - is a large resident of northern Mossflower who lives here with his friend Madd, having found her with a serious head wound and saving her life. He appears to be mentally sound but claims he can be as unstable as her, and like his pal he hates vermin.
