Bosie is a resident of the Bowlaynee Castle located in the Northlands who serves as warrior-bard. The fiddle he plays also doubles as a bow, and he uses flightless metal rods that are stored within the actual instrument itself. He has a thick northern accent, claims to have been kicked out of his home by his grandfather due to his massive appetite, and arrives at Redwall in time to save Dugry from being kidnapped by a Doomwyte crow. He later rescues Furff and Mousebabe, and is given Martin's sword to wield while he helps search the Cellar for a missing Bisky. After assisting in locating Aluco and helping to track Bisky and Dubble to the Painted Ones' home, he participates in the quest for the Great Doomwyte Idol jewels. During the final battle he becomes afflicted by the Bloodwrath and helps Zaran to collapse the hillside above the cavern by cutting down a sycamore. He later becomes the first known hare to be named Abbey Warrior. Aside from the traditional Salamandastron warcry "Eulalia!", he also yells "Bowlaaayneeee awaaaa!"
