Boorab is a resident of an unknown place who acts as a traveling musician. He is the grandson of Pieface and plays a curious instrument called a "hardee gurdee" which he builds himself. He wears a harlequin-silk jester hat that has one of three points remaining, so he places bells on the tips of his long ears to serve as the missing points, and is found wandering through Mossflower by Skipper and taken to Redwall. While here he is named Master of Music, Occasional Entertainer, Composer, Melodic Tutor, and Instructor of all Things Lyrical, as well as helping Broggle with his stutter b teaching him to sing his words instead of speaking them. Like all hares he has a massive appetite and often steals food from the Kitchen, much to Bobb's annoyance. He serves as wallguard commander when Eefera and Vallug launch attacks, and heads into Mossflower to find Skipper's crew for reinforcements. He later becomes assistant in the Kitchen while Nimbalo is named Master of Music.
