Boldred is a large resident of a mountain located in the far north where she lives with her husband Hortwingle and daughter Emalet. She is called "Skyqueen" by the Gawtrybe and ensures they do not kill any passing traveler (a nasty habit the squirrels have), and appears when they are threatening Martin's group. She orders them to sit on a ledge for a day-and-a-half and leads the four friends to her home, where she reveals that she is a mapmaker and knows Urran Voh. She later takes them to the Broadstream River, stays with them part of the way when they head to Noonvale, is responsible for gathering reinforcements for the Battle of Marshank, and participates in the aforementioned fight.
