Boar - the name of a male badger - is the old Lord of Salamandastron who expertly wields a huge broadsword he forges himself. He is the descendant of Sable Brock, son of Brocktree, grandson of Stonepaw, father of Bella, father-in-law of Barkstripe, grandfather of Sunflash, and great-great-great-grandfather of Rawnblade. He has silver fur, a long beard, originally serves as leader of Mossflower until he leaves for the ancient mountain, and leaves clues for his successor to find. He is sought out by Martin who believes he is the only one capable enough to stop Tsarmina's tyranny, but instead he forges the mouse Warrior a new indestructible blade made from a piece of a fallen star Lupin discovers on the beach. He teaches him how to properly wield it and later learns of his fate thanks to a prophecy written in his chamber. This comes true during Boar's Battle in which he kills and is killed by his mortal enemy Ripfang. Many seasons later he appears in Sunflash's dream, urging his grandson to travel to Salamandastron and become ruler. During the events of The Long Patrol, Boar appears alongside other deceased warriors in a baby Russano's dream.
