Blodd - whose titles include "Queen of all Bees" and "Queen of the Wild Sweet Gatherers", and "apis" being the name of the honeybee genus - is an ancient and skinny resident of Mossflower who lives by herself in a den located inbetween two yew trees. She is extremely protective of her territory, does not hesitate to use her bee venom-tipped darts on any creature she deems as a trespasser, and creates a very powerful ten-season mead made from honey that can easily knock out any unsuspecting beast. She is the proud owner of one of the Great Doomwyte Idol's emerald eyes (which she calls "Green Star of the Woodlands") and carries ant juice in a cylinder that she keeps on her belt; when thrown onto foes the liquid attracts the bees from the multiple beehives she tends to, and the insects will attack the source of the scent. After four Redwallers enter her domain searching for the emerald she attempts to kill them with her darts but fail, so instead she feigns friendliness and brings them to her home where she gets them very drunk on her mead as she plans on covering them with the ant juice. Gullub is not as intoxicated as his friends and causes her to spill the juice onto herself, resulting in her dying the "Death of a Thousand Stings" when her bees attack her. She is later buried in her den by the now-recovered Redwallers. Blodd is considered to be a "grey character".
