Bladd is the overweight Prince of Riftgard Fortress who lives here with his family. He is the grandson of Sarengo, son of Agarnu, and older brother of Kurda. He is tall, extremely childish at times (though Plugg claims he possesses more guts than the supposedly fiercer Kurda), and joins his sister on the pursuit of the three escaped slaves. Not long after meeting the Freebooters he begins to admire them and even aspires to be just like the corsairs, which in turn causes the pirates to like him. He participates in battle at Redwall and is killed when the woodlanders drop a giant cauldron of boiling oatmeal onto him while he is attempting to burn the main gates.
