This small stone is considered sacred by the GUOSSSOM, and serves as a symbol of the Log a Log's authority. It can be either carried in paw or worn around the neck, and during the events of Redwall the shrew holding the stone during important meetings is the only one allowed to speak. Nordo accidentally loses the stone while playing with it on the island in the middle of the Great Inland Lake, and his father later travels here in hope of recovering it. Instead he is spooked by Urthwyte and fails to retrieve it, so he asks Mara to do this seeing as how she is a badger like Urthwyte. Upon arriving on the island she tells the albino badger what had happened and he gives the stone to her.
