Bistort - a flowering plant in the flax family - is the leader of Peace Island who lives here with his family. He is the husband of Downyrose, father of Urtica, and father-in-law of Welfo. While gathering up some kelp he and his son discover the Riftgard trio (Shogg, Triss, and Welfo respectively), and bring them back to their cave. He later shows Shogg and Triss where he has hidden their ship as well as a cave where the tribe keeps various weapons.
