Bigfang is a large resident of Terramort and member (albeit a rebellious one) of Greypatch's crew. He wields a fire-swinger and spear, and after their first defeat at Redwall he attempts to steal the leadership by naming himself the new Captain. He leads the corsairs west towards a scuttled Darkqueen but they are ambushed by Clary's patrol who are hiding aboard the ship. The humiliated vermin are sent crawling back to Greypatch who immediately regains his title of leader, and Bigfang does not argue with this. As they continue to fail at conquering Redwall he and Lardgutt constantly moan about the lack of food, eventually causing an angry Greypatch to snap and challenge him to single combat. Despite being larger and stronger than his opponent, Bigfang is killed by him.
