Berussca - possibly derived from berus, the Latin word for snake - is a resident of Brockhall where she lives with her children Harssacss, Sesstra, and Zassaliss. They are attacked by Sarengo's soldiers, killing all but six rats and a young Agarnu, and while she manages to slay Sarengo with her venomous fangs she is killed by him when he breaks her spine. Their remains are discovered by Redwallers many seasons later. Along with her daughter, Berussca is the only female adder to appear in the series.
