Beelu is a capable soldier in the water rat army that serves the Marlfoxes and joins them on the trip to Mossflower to steal beautiful things for a greedy Silth. Along with Ascrod and Vannan he sneaks into Redwall during the battle to rescue a captured Dwopple, and they succeed in not only stealing Martin's tapestry but killing Nutwing as well as knocking out the three young guards (Dann, Dippler, and Song respectively). Not long after he is ordered by Vannan to remain behind and guard an "injured" Mokkan while the other Marlfoxes attack Redwall, and Mokkan convinces the rat to help him walk on the riverside. As soon as they are out of earshot of the rest of the vermin soldiers, an unlucky Beelu is fatally strangled by Mokkan for spying and then thrown into the water.
