Athrak is the leader of a magpie colony at Marlfox Island who, upon orders from Silth, watch the skies so that nobeast can enter or exit. They also snatch up any rat soldier the High Queen deems useless and drop them to the Teeth of the Deeps as seen when Rigglent suffers this fate. The birds will attack any creature and wound a kingfisher that manages to escape and tell Ellayo about the island. At one point they viciously assault a sleeping Megraw and dislocate his wing, causing him to swear revenge. Along with his entire colony, Athrak is killed by Megraw in the final battle.
