Aggril is an ancient and grey-spiked resident of a hollow oak near a cherry grove north of Noonvale. He wears square spectacles, carries a blackthorn stick, brews many cordials, and is extremely protective of the grove as he firmly believing the fruit belongs to only him. Upon orders from Boldred he tells Martin's group how to get to Noonvale but, as he does not trust them, slips the friends a powerful sleeping potion before handing them off to Boldred and the Broadstream Otters. It is said that if the former had not been present, he would have given the four pals a fatal dose.
