Abram is a resident of Mossflower where he lives with his wife Mrs. Vole and son Abram in a vole bank. While searching for food they are captured by Cluny's soldiers, and despite their predicament they remain extremely courageous. The trio are later thrown into a locked hut behind Saint Ninian's Church but later rescued by Basil and Matthias, who bring them to Redwall. He participates in the final battle against the vermin and, while not specified, possibly dies before the events of the Summer of the Golden Plain.
